Onkaonka,
The new development environment does not create a bootable image - YET.
The latest version can build a full image with a little manual labor.
Try this:
svn co http://svn.astlinux.org/trunk/astlinux astlinux-devel
cd astlinux-devel
cp astlinux.config .config
make (naswer a few questions)
cd build_i586/root
ls (your should see your new root filesystem)
The only thing it is missing to boot is GRUB. It's too bad, because it
is really hard to boot without it!
