Nik,

I don't know why you continue to have issues. I've NEVER had an issue
with the VIA EPIA boards locking up UNLESS the power supply varied too
much. I have numerous boards in place as firewalls with great uptime
values. I currently am using an EPIA PD board as my asterisk box and
firewall. No issues. Rock solid. Perhaps the distribution you're
using is doing something funny. I've used CentOS (4.2 i386) and Slackware.

I've used these things back from the original EPIA (the 800mhz). I have
an EPIA V 10000 that runs my main mail and web server. I had over 200
days up time but had to reboot to add memory. I've used the CL, M, EM,
PD boards as well. All just plain work.

And yes, I do have DMA enabled.

Specific to asterisk, as Darren mentioned, turn off all unused onboard
components if you plan on using a TDM card. I have one box at a client
that function as their voicemail system for their existing old PBX and
my office's installation. I have a TDM400 card with one FXO module in
the voicemail box and both an FXS and FXO module in the install in my
office. We routinely use the cordless phone attached to the FXS module
to make calls both over IP and out the FXO module. No issues.
