Hello !
One of the things I like the best about Astlinux is that it is so easy to test out configuration syntax.
Just at the moment I am using version 0.3.0 on a HP thin client with Flash ram and USB key disk.
I have configured for IP-telephony only (no Zaptel).
When I configure astlinux I have found out that the incomming extensions must be defined in a context called [incomming]. If I try to do the same with an other Asteriskserver I run for testing and experimenting, this other server (based on Digium latest source code) will requre that I define the incomming extensions in the context [from-sip-external]. I have tried with [incomming] on this one, but it will not work.
I think I have not seen in any books or documentation that it is a requirement that a context need to have one certain predefined name, for certain purposes, but it looks like it works like that.
I gues that [from-internal] is also a context that will have to have its right name and that this can not be changed (??)
Is there other certain predefined or reserved names for certain contexts ?
Reason for my question:
I try to experiment with the extensions.conf to learn the syntax and principles behind the dialplan, which I think is "the key" for the optimum use of Asterisk.
I can't remeber I have seen in any documentation that there is a requrement that certain groups of extentions needs to have certain reserved names (like [incomming] on astlinux and [from-sip-external] on the Digium sourcecode installation.) (Or have I ?)
I know that this question could be a Asterisk question and not a Astlinux question. Lucky enough they seem to be working slightly different when it comes to these reserved names for certain extensions groups.
Best reg Arne
