Yes it must be a problem with 0.4.0 where it hangs waiting for an NTP server. I had to disable it to boot up without connectivity.

[Astlinux-users] Booting without Inet connection

Hello,

I've just been faced with a tricky problem at a client site.
They rebooted the Astlinux PC and phoned me (from a mobile phone) to say
that their phone system didn't work any more.

What had happened is that during the reboot it hung while trying to get the
time from the ntp pool.
This was because there was no Internet connection.  There is an external
adsl modem which was on but for some reason it wasn't responding.  When the
modem was reset (power off/on) and the PC rebooted everything booted fine.

They have 0.4.0 - but it might be a more general issue.

Is there a way of simply timing out the search for the ntp pool if the first
try fails then at least asterisk will be started and the phones are not
dead.
Of course not having an Internet connection is bad but not having phones is
worse.

Thanks in advance,

-Graham S. Jarvis-
