First of all, I must say I am new to Asterisk and Astlinux. I have only
had my net4801 up for about 2 months now on astlinux 0.40. It started
off as a curiosity (I teach at a University). The more I learn about
astlinux, the more I am impressed with the fantastically lean
configuration. I would never have expected an Asterisk implementation to
do so well on an SBC with a Geode class CPU. And, I tested it on
international SIP calls, and they are flawless (at least so far)! I am
planning to introduce it into my undergraduate networking course
curriculum, though I am still working out how to fit the material into
three 1-hr classes! Congratulations to Kristian for doing such a great
job. All of us in the asterisk / astlinux world are truly indebted to you.
Now for a quick question that I am looking for an answer to... I wanted
to check out the voicemail-to-email feature, but even after fiddling
around with the config files quite a bit, I couldn't get it to work. So,
I thought I would chek up on the smtp client, but I simply could not
find any client on astlinux. No sign of ssmtp or msmtp anywhere. The
only related file I could find was /tmp/etc/msmtprc, alone by itself. I
hunted this list, and I saw a few related posts, but no real answers.
Could someone please point me to a msmtp binary (for the Soekris), if
one is indeed available? I am looking for any client (incl. msmtp) that
will support user authentication to an smtp server.
