Kristian,

I picked up generic i586. I've built in on a Debian VMWARE-Image.

The inittab are looking the same way, as in the vmware-image of version 4.0. 
But if I try to start it, it always stops after freeing memory.

Klaus,

        No you have to edit /etc/inittab and update those TTYs.

        Did you pick the incorrect device in "AstLinux Target Device" when you 
ran make menuconfig?  You will continue to have problems until you fix 
that...
