Has any one put together a getting started guide for building images? Maybe just a step by step that adds a basic package into the mix? I am going to be interested in getting pcmcia support working with Astlinux in a couple of weeks and I don't know where to begin. Does someone have a CentOS build environment vmware image to share? It seems like there was one on the Astlinux website for 0.3 at one point, but I haven't seen anything for 0.4.
I have been running Asterisk on Debian on my laptop for a while and have ordered an IDE-CF adapter. I have two pcmcia NICs and am using dnsmasq and doing NAT similar to Astlinux 0.3. I want to get rid of the hard drive and switch to Astlinux. It seems like a lot of people have old Pentium laptops sitting around that make perfect Astlinux candidates for pure IP applications like mine. Any tips would be appreciated. ~michael -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Darrick Hartman Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2006 10:46 AM To: Discussion of AstLinux - Asterisk on Compact Flash Subject: Re: [Astlinux-users] Image-Making Questions Kristian Kielhofner wrote: > > Matt, > > Debian... That completely isolates the build environment (which is a good thing). As long as you have all of the right development tools installed on the host OS, it should not matter what distro you are running on your development platform.
