Darrick, Thanks for your suggestion for the port statement. I'm just providing an update on what worked for me. I was able to modify the S07misc and include the port statement. For some reason, my ISP choked with the envelope from address even though I changed it in the voicemail.conf file. I statically changed the 'from address' in the S07misc as well and it's working.

I modified the S07misc file to include the port statement and I'll start from there. -----Original Message----- From: Gary G. What I did was to name Cox's SMTP server as the smtp server in rc.conf ... But then I use Cox's mail server for receipt of mail also ... Am not sure if this workaround will do trick for you but this works for me ... I am sure there are more elegant ways to deal with this but I was looking for the simplest way to get it to do what I want and this was it ... I am debugging the logs for clues. I did add the port statement to the /tmp/etc/msmtprc file, although it is gone after a reboot, unfortunately, this is not a viable option and I don't have the ability to ssh to my ISP's mail server. Any other ideas? -----Original Message----- From: Darrick Hartman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, August 27, 2006 11:25 AM To: Discussion of AstLinux - Asterisk on Compact Flash Subject: Re: [Astlinux-users] SMTP Port Kevin Kiely wrote: > My ISP blocks port 25. Astlinux does not yet have this feature installed. All that needs to be done is to create another variable to specify the outgoing port # and add some logic in the init script to add this to the msmtp config file. You can do this temporarily by editing /tmp/etc/msmtprc and adding: port 26 after the line that says "host yourmailhost" The other way around situations like this is to create an ssh tunnel and port forward some local port number to your external server. That encrypts the mail and your isp doesn't know what you are doing. Please report back if this works and we'll add some logic for this option.
