I am certainly all for something like this where I could perhaps run FreePBX/MYSQL on a laptop to temporarily hook into Astlinux to update complicated dialplans or whatever.
For example, it would be great if I could run say freepbx in a VMWARE virtual Linux Machine on my XP laptop that linked to an Astlinux PBX over SSH. -----Original Message----- From: Darrick Hartman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, October 12, 2006 4:47 PM To: Discussion of AstLinux - Asterisk on Compact Flash Subject: Re: [Astlinux-users] Installing MYSQL on AstLinux Tom Lynn wrote: > Why does it have to be on the same system as asterisk? > > On 10/12/06, *Andy Prokop* <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>> wrote: > > We need some help on how to install MySql on Astlinux - any ideas?? > It's more likely that we'd add mysql-client support to Astlinux than full blown mysql-server support. There are just too many writes to the disk to make to easy to do (yes it would be possible to do something with a big enough ram disk). Note that there is some postgresql client support available in the development environment. Your best bet to get something like this added is to sponsor the feature request.
