This will be the last release in the 0.1 series, as 0.2 will have a redesign to allow for additional applications beyond voicemail. From our list conversation here, I'm placing priority on the following:
1. CDR viewing for users
2. A user directory, both for system directories, and personal directories, that takes advantage of the callback feature. This will be database neutral, and come with an abstraction layer configured for xml files but able to handle databases as you need. Yeah, XML is slow- but directory apps are not transactional in nature, and text files should be able to handle things just fine, up to a few thousand entries anyway.
I'm also working on modules for system administration, starting with administrative methods to work with Voicemail, CDRs and the directory system, then moving into system configuration and monitoring. I will publish the plugin 'api' that I'm developing, so that others can contribute additional modules as they become necessary.
As always, any questions, please drop me a line- I'm always open to new ideas. I am going to be making an announcement on Messenger availability to Asterisk-biz, once the 0.2 release is ready- until then, I'm staying exclusive (and tested) under astlinux only. To my knowledge, there is no astlinux-biz, if there is and someone wants me to post this there instead of here, I'm open to that. I'm especially interested in talking to anyone who has any good ideas on how to solve the permissions issue- the general Asterisk community is not going to like opening up their voicemail to their web servers.
