Thanks,

I do not get a connection when I use that link with my local IP.  I also cannot connect from a telnet command line (telnet localhost 8088)

If you enable and use the defaults in http.conf and manager.conf the following link should show the status.

http://AsteriskIP:8088/asterisk/httpstatus

I can't get it to run no way no how.  Re-installed everything for about the 3rd time and double checked all the suggestions I got on this thread.

Is there a way to test if the asterisk http module is running?

What is the minimal *.conf set.  If I just have http.conf, manager.conf and users.conf in /etc/asterisk/ is that good enough to get it to work assuming I can get an asterisk CLI?

canuck15,

Although the http server is included in 1.4 Beta3, the Asterisk GUI (content) needs to be installed separately.  I was able to get this working by downloading from SVN at the following link:

svn checkout http://svn.digium.com/svn/asterisk-gui/trunk asterisk-gui

Once you download you need to run make ; make install; make samples

If all else is configured correctly in http.conf, manager.conf and users.conf then it should work.  The URL to get to the GUI is:

Let me know if you still have difficulties.

Larry

I tried to get this running on a fresh install on Vmware.  There is not much documentation.  I configured the manager.conf. and http.conf files as per the asterisk-gui readme.  I have Asterisk 1.4 running with CLI access.  I also have httpd running.  Everything is running but the GUI does not come up at the link given after I ran a "check makeconfig".  What am I missing.  Maybe permission problem?

I like the interface.  What do the resulting config files look like?
