I don't think i can send "Digest" information with my E70... is there
some setting in sip.conf I have to turn on/off to allow registration
without a "digest"?
I've taken settings from some forums that said these should work on an
asterisk server...and I've never had troubles registrating with any

First of all, Nokia E70. Very cool. I want to get one, but I am
worried that because it is only tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900) and not
quad band (850/900/1800/1900), it won't work well for me in the US.
I might have to settle for an E61 instead :).
Anyways, I have heard that there are some issues with the e70 and
Asterisk/SIP in general. I don't know the specifics, but it looks to me
that in the above dialog (as you presumed), the e70 should try to
register again after it receives the 401 unauthorized, and reply with
another REGISTER, this time adding the "Authorization: XXX" header, just
like SJPhone (and every other SIP client I have ever seen).
I know that these Nokia's are running Symbian OS 9.1, and that there
are constant firmware updates for them. I also know that there are a
LOT of people that are very interested in getting them to work, for
obvious reasons.
I'm soooo jealous, I love the E70!
