Carla,

        Thanks.  I'm really not that hostile towards requests for software as 
long as they are relatively small and fit the design goals.  :)

        I have included support for the following:

(generic i586/via)
- emu10k boards (various Creative cards)
- Ensoniq 1370/1371/1373
- C-Media stuff
- Intel/SiS/nvidia/AMD/ALi AC97
- Via AC97
- anything from ESS
- generic USB audio

(Soekris net4801/WRAP)
- generic USB audio

        Only Asterisk (so far) appears to detect ALSA automatically.  I need to 
test it more, but at least it finds the headers, links, and builds 
chan_alsa.so. :)
