Theoreticly you should be able to get a low bandwidth VoIP connection
over an Edge connection but not with a GPRS/GSM connection due to its
asyncronous connection type.

I guess the real question is "are there any Linux drivers for these
devices". If there are then Asterisk will not see it but rather see a
viable network stack with which it can send its packets over.

Be aware that most EDGE providers block the use of VoIP protocols for
revenue protection reasons. I've seen it got around by using a VPN
connection to the host and then running the VoIP within the VPN.

Not really the answer you are looking for.
