Jonathan, As a note to others, this problem only exists on trunk. None of the released images would have this issue. This will be a problem moving forward with runnix images. The images are not writable so areas such as the passwd file and .htpasswd would not survive a reboot. This is something we need to clear up. In the short term, we'll probably create some symbolic links (it's a security risk in my opinion to have Astlinux boxes that reset the password to defaults on reboot). Kris, have any ideas on this one? I know in the past you were against symbolically linking /etc/passwd, /etc/group ... but perhaps that's a good short term work around until we get the stuff with unionfs worked out.
