The take-a-way from this was two things:

I originally started to look into this as I had a problem with NAT and a
Asterisk 1.4 system.  I am still having NAT issues with the Asterisk 1.4.14
build.  Same config as astlinux 1.2 solution which seems to work.  Also, I
have 5 IP's with my DSL provider.  I was trying to simulate my install with
the Main location on one of the 5 IP's and the remote as one of the others.
For some reason, I was not able to communicate between addresses from the
ISP.  So I still have to find out why this doesn't work with Asterisk 1.4.

Heck if you're drinking Miller... ;)  Even though I live in Wisconsin, I 
still prefer something darker.  Usually a good stout or porter works well.
