Good night Darrick,

if i have to be honest, i don't know if i'm using unionfs or not. The only
thing i can tell is that mine is asterisk-beta 1445.

The theme of languages is someting to bear in mind, under my humble opinion,
because english is a defacto standard but many of us might require local
languages.

When i started reviewing this problem i realized that the directories are
not 1.4 compliant... and the other problem is that already known that i
don't know how to install new languages.

Under 1.4, the skel looks like this:

/var/spool/asterisk/sounds/
                                      /dictate
                                      /digits
                                      /es
                                      /followme-g729
                                      /letters
                                      /phonetic
                                      /silence

Under normal circumstances install a language is as easy as to create the
directory (in this case the 'es' directory) and fill all directories with
the correspondent files. Tthis is done by issuing the following command from
the /var/spool/asterisk/sounds/:

tar -zxvf /path/to/asterisk-core-sounds-es-g729.tar.gz

Under my opinion in order to fix this astlinux should include in
/stat/...... the english sounds in 1.4 format (for asterisk-beta) and force
use /mnt/kd/path/to/sounds/ to host new languages (mayge in the sounds
directory can exists broken links to /mnt/kd for all languagjes recognized
by asterisk so just putting the correspondent files the languages becomes
activated).

If i can help in something please let me know. In the mean time, and just in
case i have unionfs (i think that yes but seem for the behavior that not) i
would appreciate so much if you can help me in how can i fix it
momentaneously.

Thanks in advance.
Regads and Happy X-Mas!!!
