A lot of things can go wrong if you patch some code. However, you'll see what goes wrong, the compiler doesn't let you stand in the dark and you can fix it easily :-) Why don't you just give it a try? If it causes an error, fix it. You can also volunteer to maintain the patch for Astlinux. Help is appreciated - especially in this project where there are only two developers doing most of the work: Darrick and Kris. I have done the mISDN stuff for Astlinux. It's often a pain to maintain. Why? Because a number of things can go wrong when either we upgrade/patch the linux kernel (mISDN uses the kernel sources to compile) or there is a new mISDN version available. You give it a try. If it applies properly, you are happy & lucky. If it doesn't, you have to adjust/fix some patches/.mk files, etc. Don't forget to run some tests afterwards. But it's all doable. So go and get started! :-) regards and merry christmas, Ingmar ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
