I've committed several changes in trunk that people who are building 
their own versions using the development environment should be know about.

There is now an "experimental" packages flag in the menuconfig.  If you 
enable this, it will display a whole list of packages that are not 
supported by the developers currently.  These are either not needed in 
any way at all (like xorg or tinyx...why would you ever want that on 
your pbx?) or are just out of date.  They may or may not build, might 
have security holes in, or have other issues.

Use these at your own risk.  You may or may not get support here (we'll 
provide what we can but nothing is guaranteed).

This should reduce the number of questions about "why doesn't obsolete 
package X not build".

I may have missed a few packages that need this "experimental" flag. 
We'll update those as we find them.

Remember, if you're using svn, svn update is your friend.
