You know, it's an odd thing. A bunch of pet hair got into the pins of the reader, and when the card was inserted, they pushed themselves into the little sockets... I tried to clear the card out, but no success. On one external USB reader, I can read/write the card with no issues... but when I try to boot from the net5501, it just hangs. Very strange.
