I'm sure we could.  I doubt we'd include it in a standard image though. 
  Most of the target devices are low power and not really designed to do 
mp3 encoding.  It would also be way down on the wish list.  There are 
other ideas that would benefit a larger number of people that need to be 
addressed before some of these other items.

By all means, if you want to try creating a package to accomplish this, 
we'll review and help where we can.  My priority right now is to get 
some rock-solid releases out the door and branch trunk into 0.6 so we 
can do some more disruptive changes in trunk.
