Well, Just wanted to report success. I made my first call through astlinux
tonight. livecd booted in a VMWare machine with unionfs pointing at
/dev/hda1 (also used as keydisk having run genunion). Used asterisk-gui to
create a user (extension) service provider (voip trunk) and dialplan.
Connected counterpath X-Lite (running on the same laptop as VMWare... yes
this did stress things a bit, audio was choppy) and placed a call to my
mobile phone. Darn thing works.

Lonnie, it would be so useful if you could put a link to asterisk-gui into
your alternate web gui (which I also got installed and running nicely
tonight)... http://<ipaddress>:8088/asterisk/static/config/cfgbasic.html
Maybe get it to open a new browser window (or tab preferably). Might want to
make this a "preference" setting with a warning that unionfs must be running
for it to work.

Almost time to go buy the ALIX system I have my eye on :-)

This stuff's cool !

David
