Many thanks for the explanation.
I have to wonder if this can be fixed at the source by the author?
I also don't much care for any of the fixes you propose, and the "original" web interface does not suffer from this. I is such a nice interface, and I would love to use it if this can be overcome.

The problem is the way that the altweb interface redirects to itself. Rather than use the IP address/name that you type into the browser, it substitutes its DNS name... which is configured as "pbx" in the AStLinux config.

Therefore you have to do one of three things... either hard code "pbx" to equal the IP address of your device in the "hosts" file of every client, or you have to add the domain to the DNS search list in every client (in Windows this is in Advanced IP settings for the connection ("Append these DNS suffixes" to which I add xxxxx.dyndns.org <http://xxxxx.dyndns.org>). Or you have to make your AstLinux box the DNS server for every client.

None of these are ideal and personally, I don't like the way altweb does it. It should capture the IP name/address from the URL as typed by the user into the web browser and not substitute what is a hard coded name in the AstLinux setup.

Lonnie has better php-foo than the other developers and has
created a gui which maintains almost all (if not all) of the
functionality of the original gui with some added features which I
    find useful.

I really like the alternate, but had one problem some time ago and
    have
been really busy with many other projects, from fostering a Yorkie to
retrieving an almost antique Stromberg-Carlson E-120 PBX and will have
    to revisit it.
Simply put, if I point my browser to https:// < ip address > on my
    LAN,
it errors out saying it can't find "pbx".
I asked about this before, but got distracted, so I will have to
    revisit .
Other than that problem, all seemed to work well and made
    configurations
really easy for those of us who aren't really deeply into the nuts and
    bolts.

Many thanks for all the wonderful work on this project.
