I would agree with you. I created an audio file with festival and added that to my AstLinux box. It didn't sound very good. I'm going back to Cepstral.
Are there any instructions for installing Cepstral in AstLinux? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rob Hillis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "AstLinux Users Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 20, 2008 11:20:26 PM GMT -09:00 Alaska Subject: Re: [Astlinux-users] Can I install Cepstral text to speach? Cepstel's TTS isn't perfect, but unlike Festival, it doesn't sound like a Dalek on valium either. I realise that Festival is free, but IMO Festival is pretty much useless for telephony applications - I've run into too many people who have trouble understanding it because it sounds so mechanical. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Astlinux-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/astlinux-users Donations to support AstLinux are graciously accepted via PayPal to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Astlinux-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/astlinux-users Donations to support AstLinux are graciously accepted via PayPal to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
