Hi Philip,

my Astlinux box is in "PBX only"-mode, so no firewall.
On the console I see messages like after startup:

"set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 12 to 59"

I tested your suggestion from above:

pbxrunnix ~ # date
Sat Nov 29 18:30:10 CET 2008
pbxrunnix ~ # /etc/init.d/zaptel stop
pbxrunnix ~ # hwclock -wu
hwclock: can't open '/dev/misc/rtc': No such file or directory
pbxrunnix ~ #

/dev/misc/ doesn't exit on that machine (Compaq DeskPro EN PIII 1GHz).
