Although I must admit I'm jumping into this a little late and could
be way off base.
Thank you for the suggestion. What I have works although it does
require a manual reconfiguration of Asterisk, my firewall/router and
DNS when a failure occurs. Thankfully the link I use for VoIP has been
very reliable.
I will eventually try to make my AstLinux box into my firewall/router
which I think will solve that problem. It appears that all the bits
and pieces are there, I just have to learn more about ipTables, how
the Arno filewall uses ipTables and then what the interaction is
between the AstLinux alternate web interface's network and firewall
controls are. I tried this when I was first setting things up and got
the networking totally bollixed up. So I will run my currently stable
configuration as dedicated PBX on my LAN while I educate myself. Which
will probably take some time. :)
