Hi I have been using a TDM400 with 2 FXO cards for over a year but am disappointed in the quality. I mainly use the Astlinux box to join a number of SIP phones, but wanted to avoid having another two phones (POTS ones) on the desk for each of the two PSTN lines I have, when I can route it all through one of my SIP phones. This part works fine of course, but I would be interested in any best practice guidance on configuring FXO channels with a view to improve sound quality. Despite trying to tweak RX/TX gains the sound is quiet and noisy. The Asterisk box is sited right next to the PSTN master sockets so noise induced in long cables is not a factor. I know that the SIP phone to the Astlinux is good quality and I know the PSTN line is good quality. The problem it would seem is the TDM400 processing.
If anyone has any sample zapata.conf files which work well in the UK or any other suggestion I would be grateful.
