Single port T1 PCI ( TE110 ) cards were recently on eBay cheap, $150 or best offer. Any computer that will accept a PCI card and run Astlinux. I set one up in an HP T5720 with no real effort at all, used the stock 586 flavor and had it running in no time You could also get a Cisco 3810 with a T1 port, load the SIP image and communicate via SIP from Astlinux. this won't support more than a few simultaneous conversations, depending on the size of the DSP module.
Both methods will work and cost, if you shop well, under about $300

If I want to develop my own channel bank, is it possible? I think I
can use Asterisk, but what hardware can I use?

Thanks,

Hi,

I would like to use astLinux to bridge E1/T1 to analog phone. So,
that would mean 3 PCI cars, one for E1/T1 and the other two for 16
ports analog phone.

Does anyone have suggestions for HW that I can use?

Thanks for your recommendation.

Pete
Hi Pete,

you could use eg. Patton VoIP-Gateways (SIP-To-analog) or
Channelbanks (by many companies) for analog equipment and use only
the E1/T1 with PCI.
But be aware of possible fax issues.
