I believe I have the explanation: user error. It looks as though I've
tried to upgrade my net5501 with the net4801 firmware. Is there an
easy way to confirm that this is what happened? Other than the
presence in /mnt/kd of a suspicious looking net4801.tar.gz and various
net4801-related error messages during boot. Will you promise not to
slap me?

Does this mean I should start from scratch and wipe the CF?
