The /oldroot/cdrom directory (vfat partition) is automatically remounted in 0.6.3, but this requires the RUNNIX vfat partition to have a label of "RUNNIX". The <arch>.img.gz images (the ones you 'dd' to a CF card) are created the the proper vfat label, true for 0.6.3, 0.6.2 and possibly others.
