I'm not entirely sure as a project that we really want to do this.  My 
guess is it will never be officially accepted into Asterisk by Digium 
and may open up a legal can of worms that we don't want to touch.

What I will say in general is that you can look at the asterisk.mk file 
and figure out how to add your own patch if this is a feature that you'd 
like to have.  Does sound interesting though.
