Thanks for the suggestion but I am using the ready built version. everything is fine until I attempt to load Astersk-GUI in the browser then Asterisk stops responding completely restarting asterisk doesn't help the system has to be rebooted. I'm loathed to image a 1.4 installation to the CF if it is going to do the same, so was hoping someone would know if asterisk GUI is broken in the 1.6 beta or I might be doing something wrong.
