Given the large number of successful users of Asterisk, as well as
AstLinux, I would kindly suggest you might look elsewhere for the problem(s)
Start with a nice clean mirror, perhaps?
Personally I don't use the asterisk-GUI, and have never found a need for
it. The EXCELLENT web interface in AstLinux in recent 0.6 and 0.7
versions, allows many unskilled users to work with the asterisk
configuration and dial plan.
I support quite a few users on a private network using several versions
of asterisk as well as AstLinux, and no one needs nor cares about the
Asterisk-GUI
