Yes, this is expected.  Since the Directory tab has no authentication, there is 
no way to tell who the 'user' is, since there is no user without authentication.

A thought was to optionally add authentication to the Directory tab to overcome 
this, but that greatly reduces the usefulness of the Directory tab.
