Digium considers 1.4 and soon to be 1.8 so-called "long term stable"  
1.6 versions, all 1,284 of them, is not considered LTS.
1.6.0, 1.6.1 and 1.6.2 versions all marching along together was a 
confusing mistake on their part.
At least, that is the way I read it.
