I have not tried this, but the 'isohybrid' command may allow the normal 
ISO image to be installed to a USB thumbdrive.

To test this, someone could take the normal astlinux iso image, then run 
the isohybrid command against it:

isohybrid astlinux-0.7.XX.iso

Then use dd to transfer the iso to the USB device:

dd if=astlinux-0.7.XX.iso of=/dev/sdx (where x is your usb drive).

I have not tested this, so I have no idea if it will work.  You probably 
will not be able to add a unions partition on the same device.

For now, I would definitely consider this 'unsupported'.  It's on the 
list, but as I've said before, not a high priority.
