Thanks for the prompt reply, I do not disagree with what you are saying, but
I am faced with a dilemma trying to find a client for the Iphone and a few
other mobiles, also trying to connect some of the Cisco Modem/routers is a
definite no go zone. Is it difficult to add this as an option to Astlinux?.

Both OpenVPN and IPsec are supported in AstLinux and are both a superior VPN
to PPTP.  Granted you have experience with PPTP, I'd give OpenVPN a try, the
learning curve is not too high, and OpenVPN is loaded with features... not
to mention certificate based identities.
