Michael,

My suggestion would be to use an external WiFi access point... most cost the 
same (or less) than the mini PCI card + addons does.  The AP can be placed at 
the optimum location.

Additionally, it is possible that internal WiFi (hostapd) support could be 
discontinued at some future point in AstLinux.
