Michael, I use AstLinux as my only router, and support WiFi via Access Points (not routers) in 'bridge' mode off an internal interface. I often need more than one AP for great coverage and they can be placed exactly where I want, not always next to the AstLinux box. Additionally many AP's now support PoE which helps in the proper location placement.
