I ran into this case and found that my asterisk was actually restarting
itself. In my case asterisk was bombing because of an outstanding bug..
But the symptom was my call counters resetting.. I recompiled my astlinux
adding in the appropriate asterisk patches to fix the bugs and never looked
back. You can check your system logs for asterisk restarts, segfaults,
etc Astlinux doesn¹t restart asterisk on a time schedule.. Ive had it
run for many months without reboot.

I am ware if this. The only reason I ask regarding AstLinux is because it
seems to reset every day back to 0 without the need of a restart and since
astlinux talks to the ami I thought it was a setting.
