Hi people, There is a serious problem with the build of Astlinux 0.7.8 optimized for Soekris net5501.
I have two soekris net5501 with mainboards version 100506. I have tried both of them with Astlinux, using only the SATA port for storage. Both computers fail giving thousands of errors like these: Jul 11 19:06:11 pbx user.err kernel: Buffer I/O error on device hdb2, logical block 0 Jul 11 19:06:11 pbx user.warn kernel: lost page write due to I/O error on hdb2 Jul 11 19:06:11 pbx user.err kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev hdb, sector 5914600 Jul 11 19:06:11 pbx user.err kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev hdb, sector 5767120 Jul 11 19:06:11 pbx user.err kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev hdb, sector 262080 I've tried different hard drives (seagate, western digital) but I always get the same problem. The hard disks are fine and healthy, they pass the official diagnostics tests from their manufacturers correctly. They don't have any defective sectors. I'm using soekris net5501 bios 1.33c (it's the latest one I could find on official website) Be warned!! This problem is very serious and causes DATA LOSS!!
