Nedi, The Alix boards we specifically support are the alix2d3 / alix2d13 (and older alix2d2) types.
The Alix 3D3 (and alix1d) are quite different, different BIOS, VGA, only 1 LAN. I assume it is working for you except for the external USB drive issue you mention. Does the USB drive appear if after the box is booted, unplug the USB drive, wait a couple seconds, and plug it back in? Obviously it does not mount by itself, but /dev/sda (or such) should appear in the logs. Does the different BIOS in the 3D3 have USB drives disabled or some such? Just guessing. Have you tried AstLinux 1.0.0 for the alix board?
