No problem.
To answer your question, yes this should be a new and unique network
dedicated solely for the tunnel. So in your example, it should be ccc. As
long as the network doesn't overlap any other existing networks, you should
be fine. And keep in mind that the only "devices" on this network will be
the server and the clients. Remember it's the network address, not the
server IP address like you configure normal interfaces for. The server
should auto-assign itself the first available IP (ie: .1) and auto-assign
clients subsequent addresses.
Unless you did some general networking/firewall reconfiguration, I agree
that this is likely where you broke something.
