Hi Mike,

AstLinux provides a lot of useful stuff, and leaves out the non-useful stuff. 
:-)

First, if you need a special application the developers here would like to 
understand your need as it may be generally useful to the community.

But, if it is a special case, the only way to add an application is to build 
your own custom image.  We have documentation on how to do this, in general it 
is not hard... though adding your custom application may not always be easy 
depending if it already exists in the buildroot build system we use.

Related to your previous question about security, by only including a set of 
tools centered around Asterisk and networking, our goal with AstLinux is to 
offer a stable/predictable solution.
