Hi Jeff,

While nothing in AstLinux precludes POE power, I have never tried it, but 
something like this:

POE-12s 12VDC 1A Power Over Ethernet (POE) Splitter

together with a PC Engines alix2d3 / alix2d13, probably should work. (Note the 
alix does not directly support 802.3af POE)

The approx. 1A (@12V DC) current limit of IEEE 802.3af POE will limit what x86 
hardware can be powered.

Though, I am a little puzzled why POE is needed for the AstLinux box, mine are 
usually tucked away in a secure location with a standard 3A - 12VDC power 
adapter.
