All,

I'm interested in connecting to a back-end database running on a separate
server running on the same LAN subnet as AstLinux. Before posting my
question here, I searched around for prior answers. Similar questions seem
to come up from time to time. Most of the answers sensibly speak to the
incompatibilities between MySQL SERVER, Compact Flash, and low-power CPUs.
Of course, all I would need is support for the CLIENT.

Lacking that, I'm curious if a work-around is feasible: Might an AGI call a
PHP script on AstLinux that, in turn, would access data on an external MySQL
server? This wouldn't be too bitter a pill to swallow since I'll probably
end up using an AGI anyway.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Dan
