John,
OK, then give this a try for DNS Service Type: [ User Defined >>> ]

That does eliminate the inadyn error message, but it seems it isn't sending the
ip address in correct format.
here is the response from the manager of the ddns server
ddclient works to his server, but from my understanding ddclient is a perl
script which doesn't run in AstLinux
Is inadyn using dyndns2?
Changing the check ip to his makes no difference
httpd/access_log:68.61.108.214 - cascowdennis [05/Aug/2013:04:00:15 +0000] "GET
http://ddns.ckts.info:80/nic/update?cascowtel.ckts.info HTTP/1.0" 200 6 "-"
"inadyn/1.96.2 [email protected]"
httpd/access_log:63.231.252.186 - savgmnxs44g [01/Aug/2013:20:34:31 +0000] "GET
/nic/update?system=dyndns&hostname=savgmnxs44g.ckts.info&myip=63.231.252.186 HTTP/1.0" 200 19
"-" "ddclient/3.8.1"
It looks like the inadyn entry isn't announcing its IP address. I'm not
familiar with the first version of dyndns, but I'm wondering if you're trying
to use dyndns1 rather than dyndns2.
Also, it's not necessary that you check your ip address against "getip.krisk.org". I
don't think it makes a difference, but, if all else fails, try
"ddns.ckts.info/checkip.php".

It is a bit of a hack, but may work.

I have an older AstLinux system ( 0.7.10 ) that I have been attempting to get
inadyn working on a dynamic dns server other than dyndns, with no joy.
Using the GUI interface, I have set up what appears to be the correct values, (
A similar setup with ddclient on Linux works ) but inadyn throws an error
The inadyn.conf file the GUI writes appears correct

invoking inadyn at the command line produces, after throwing all the help
options:
W:INADYN: Main: Error 'RC_DYNDNS_INVALID_OPTION' (0x44).
Google produces no meaningful answers
I support a bunch of AstLinux ( older versions ) on thin clients, and would
like to find a solution, as dyndns has become a real PITA with their
requirement for a monthly HUMAN response to their system.
Anyone?
