The AstLinux team will be including a major new feature into AstLinux 1.1.3, the "Flash Operator Panel 2" (FOP2) for Asterisk. -- FOP2 http://www.fop2.com/ is a web application for the Asterisk PBX. The FOP2 developers created the first panel for Asterisk in 2004, and is the most widely used operator console. FOP2 uses Adobe Flash or HTML5 websockets for synchronous data gathering and Ajax for the user interface.
In the spirit of the original Open Source FOP version, FOP2 is free for up to 15 buttons, unlimited buttons and other features may be unlocked with a paid license. -- As with any major new feature, we would like users to test prerelease versions. While I personally have this version running on my production system, it would be best to test on a spare system if possible. AstLinux Custom Build Engine http://build.astlinux.org/ While the FOP2 code is about 8 MB in size, you will notice the AstLinux image has not grown, this is because the FOP2 code is downloaded on your ASTURW partition when you install it, much like how Asterisk sound files are installed. Note: the Alix board does not have enough RAM to install and run FOP2, preliminary AstLinux 1.1.3 will still work fine , though FOP2 cannot be installed on the Alix (or any board with less than 512 MB of RAM). A dual-core Atom board is the preferred platform for use with FOP2. Tip: FOP2 is a very powerful, feature rich application, while quite easy to get started, exploring and implementing the vast set of FOP2 features has a significant learning curve.
