Out of curiosity, do you have DMA enabled for your CF card ? (ie, what is
libata.dma= set to in /proc/cmdline)
By default...
$ sed -nr 's/^.* (libata.dma=[^ ]*) .*$/\1/p' /proc/cmdline
libata.dma=3
Change libata.dma= with...
$ set-kcmd
Usage: set-kcmd option
Available Options:
libata.dma= [LIBATA] DMA control
libata.dma=0 Disable all PATA and SATA DMA
libata.dma=1 PATA and SATA Disk DMA only
libata.dma=2 ATAPI (CDROM) DMA only
libata.dma=4 Compact Flash DMA only
Combinations also work, so libata.dma=3 enables DMA
for disks and CDROMs, but not CFs.
Of couse you CF needs to support DMA if you enable it, but most of the newer
ones do.
