Maciej, It's possible it is a Chipset issue, but a couple days ago Josh had a boot issue (different problem related to booting from USB) but my first suggestion was to try a SVN build of the next release of AstLinux from: http://build.astlinux.org/

If you want, give the "geni586" SVN image a try and see if the added ACPI kernel support in our bootloader (RUNNIX) solves your problem.
